My kids love to eat lettuce, sandwiches and banh tet, but I rarely buy any because I know after the first use it will just sit there in my fridge, taking up valuable space, and will end up being thrown away .

I find it too inconvenient to wash a few sheets every time I need them, which adds precious minutes to pre-meal prep. I don’t like buying bagged lettuce because it’s more expensive, perishes quickly, and I’m not a fan of the taste – it never tastes fresh to me.

Efficiency in the kitchen is a matter of planning. If you could take a moment to plan your week into a day, life would suddenly become much less hectic in the morning and even at dinner time, plus you couldStore and use leftovers more efficiently!

How to keep salads fresh until lunch

No one wants to open their lunch box to find a pile of wilted greens. No bonus! Luckily, you can avoid this error with a few simple tips:

  • Include an ice pack in your lunch bag to keep things cool.
  • Do not mix dressing with salad just before serving. The acids in the dressing will break down the lettuce, leaving it shrunken and mushy. I love using these sauce containers to pack in my lunch bag with salads.
